every time i open origin it softlocks me into a window that suggests to install ea app. now i thought okay its forcing me to install this must be a good reason but no. i log in with the right account, got my games, my mods work and then i find out ea app doesnt allow me to invite friends to my games? and i thought okay, ig i deinstall this garbage and go back to origin, but when i logged myself in it tries to force me again to install the ea app. what kind of idea is it to force the switch when u said just a while ago that origin will still be usable but no u force me to install the app that disallows me from playing w my friends. i`m absolutely fed up with this. @EA_Darko You aren't listening. The reason everyone here wants to go back to Origin in the first place is because THE EA APP IS BROKEN. The EA App is, by its own admission, still a BETA project and it shows. It clearly isn't ready to replace Origin. A number of games linked to peoples accounts DO NOT WORK. I can't play Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order because I keep getting an error from the EA App saying a problem occurred on the launcher and to try it again later, but it never works! FIX THIS HORRIBLE APP, LET US USE ORIGIN AGAIN, or better still, GET RID OF YOUR DRM.

Yes this modern launcher is taking so many things and is a BIG L (cm edit - removed language)

I tried uninstalling the crappy EA app and re-installing Origin (had it in my downloads folder still) without allowing it to update Origin.I could open Origin and launch a game without being forced into the non-functional new EA app.But launching the game, the game kept crashing and is completely unusable.I tried restarting the computer - DID NOT ALLOW ORIGIN TO UDPATE - and it still managed to push through the effing update forcing the install of the new EA app.I guess I'll check if EA games are usable again in a few months or so ☹️

As @speedracer523 on another Thread has also pointed out, the XML File could potentially be changed back if the upgrade push does that.

Below are his comments (in blue), that I think are worth repeating here:

by blocking api1 you do no remove the setting* from the xml, but since I restored mine, it never shows!
I assume if the Api1 is not blocked and ea pushed a 'removal' of the migration, the xml will be updated.

is the domain it uses to check for updates, which also happens to be how it fetches data to write to the xml.
*-presumably another setting to show it or disabled set to false and hence, it shows it."

I can install EA App, but it will not start unless I set my windows regional to something strange, messing up a couple of characters in texts everywhere.
So, I did not want to.

The above XML File modification is still working fine for me.

Basically, I just click the Game's icon on my Windows 10 Pro Desktop, and a simple screen pops up saying logging in to Origin, that goes, and the Game then comes straight up.

When I exit, I am left with the usual Origin screen, so it must be loading up as the Game fires up.

I think that's what it always did, but cannot say I really paid any attention to it until the EA App forced upgrade pitched up to spoil it all.

I've saved a copy of both the original XML and also the modified XML, in case I need either.

If the EA App upgrade pops up again, it will probably just mean that I need to copy the modified XML back in again.

So far, so good, and that has not been needed.

When the Origin screen was up, I did disable anything I could see that may upset my little apple cart, so I have disabled Updates, Notifications, and so on.

I just play solo, so that may not be workable for those who enjoy multi player Games across the web.

I had no issues when using Origin, but now that I am forced to use EA app then now I cannot access ANY of my games. Why is this now my problem when there was no problem when I could use Origin? EA created the problem, YOU fix it EA!

Today the fix dosent work anymore so EA did not want us to play at origin.
