You should be able to see what Xbox accounts are linked to your profile by following this link: https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/account/link-your-console-accounts/
If none are linked then you should be able to log in to your EA account on the Xbox account that you want to link, that should then just link up I believe.
This won’t work if your Xbox account is still linked to your old EA account so it needs to be removed off all accounts.
Hi @CarbonCarl
Thank you for responding and trying to assist me with this. I'm still confused as if there's a way to add the correct Xbox account once the incorrect one is removed though. The sentence below in quotes is from the link that you posted. I'm not sure as to the last part of it when it talks about not being able to have the same account type linked to the EA account before.
"You can unlink your platform accounts from your EA account if you want to link them to a different EA Account, as long as your EA Account has never had the same account type linked to it before."
Does that mean that I can never add the correct Xbox account to my EA account since it had the incorrect Xbox account associated with it before, even after removing it?
Thank you,

I never actually spotted that, I knew it was the case for Steam but didn’t know consoles too. I’m actually wondering now if this is something that’s been implemented recently as in the past year.
But yes looking at it, it seems whatever account you link to your EA account is then bound to your account, even when unlinking.
However, a new EA account would be able to link the Xbox account and therefor also become bound to that EA account.
I think the reason for this is to maybe stop cheats/hackers from switching accounts after a ban etc
