Xbox Ultimate Game Pass and Ea Play

Hello,

With the recent Ea play/ Xbox Pass i havent been able to touch any games from EA play due to an error i keep getting each time i try to download a game from the pass. I've seen a few people had this problem but it was never clear what should be done in order to fix that problem. Here's a screenshot of what's happening and images that show that both my Xbox and EA account are linked. What i've tried :

-Disconnecting from Xbox/EA and connecting both in different order

-launched EA as an administrator everytime.

-Restarted my pc. Uninstalled and cleared registery for a clean install of ea desktop.

-Checked the import friend option on EA desktop but i get the error ( We couldn't load your Xbox friends )

-tried to unlink and link by logging in with my EA ID instead of my Email but no options was there for me to log in with my ID so now i can't unlink for 6 months

Please help, i've been struggling with this problems for 4 days now and i have seen no solutions whatsoever

Ok. I just solved this issue. Search UAC on windows and turn the knob all the way up for allow all in the setting and select OK.
After this step sign out on both Xbox app and EA play beta app. Restart the apps and sign in.
Try downloading the EA play game now from xbox app, the download will start from the EA play beta app.

I actually just managed to install a game pass game-
The key was to QUIT/STOP EA Desktop app and then try to install a game from the XBOX app.
This would start the EA Desktop app, but as the xbox account (??)
Unfortunately, this means I cannot play my origin games while this is running -_-

@CaptainWead I'm running into the same problem.

Since the weekend I've been trying to link my accounts to no luck and finally today I linked it using the import friends feature. (I'm getting the same couldn't load your xbox friends error)

Even with my accounts definitely linked, EA Desktop doesn't realise that I already have EA Play that comes with game pass and asks me to either select a subscription plan or purchase the game when I click install on the xbox app.

Have you seen any progress since you posted? I'm also running out of possible solutions...
I've replied on the Info Request thread link that EA Help tweeted out on Friday, but I have no idea if that'll help in any way. Here's a link to the thread if you haven't seen it already:

No unfortunately i've had no progress on this, the only answers i've had was " it just fixed itself" but it clearly didn't for me.. I've checked everything i could and still have no idea what's happening ☹️

@mugszy674429 I got so fed up I just ended up buying a month of EA Play and I can now download and play games. My account page on the app and on the browser tells me I have EA Play (but not with game pass) till the end of the month.

But trying to play online with a friend who's on an xbox kicks him from my party and seeing how no one else I know is having the same issue I'm fairly certain the link between my ea and xbox accounts need to be fixed.

I'm sorry I don't have anything either but their contact support page is bugged and they won't initiate a convo with me. I was so close to making a twitter account just to @EAHelp but I calmed down and decided it wasn't worth my time and effort (they only seem to care about fifa, madden and apex anyway). * EA

@CaptainWead SOLUTION: Log out of the EA Desktop app. Should be on the sign-in screen then close your app so it isn't running, find the game you'd like to download, download it and this should prompt the EA desktop App to open in which you should see the download screen asking where you would like the file stored. Worked for me, let me know if I can help.

@IvanMatos04 Hey ! Just tried that but it still isn't working. I can't even start a download of any game as i get instantly stopped by an error saying that i need to install the Ea desktop app ☹️ Really feels like the Xbox app cannot find my ea Desktop on my computer and i have no idea where i should install it in order for the Xbox app to recognize the desktop app.

I have Xbox Gamepass (not ultimate) linked to my EA account for EA Play. If I try to download a game either from the Xbox app redirecting me to EA Desktop, or from EA Desktop itself, the download options window doesn't pop up like it did in all the videos I watched. All I get is a loading icon for 1-3 seconds.
If someone could help me with this issue then that would be great.

Bump, a month and my issue is still not fixed.. Forgot to cancel my sub to the game pass and now i have an entire month with no ea play available again. It's pissing me off

11 minutes later, i finally managed to make to it work ! It ONLY took a month 🙂
For anyone wondering it's something i've done a few times in the past. But it didn't work but now, for some reason, it did.
1. I uninstalled everything EA related on my pc ( litterally everything )
2. Cleaned my Registery using CCleaner
3. Cleaned my system with CCleaner as well
4. Made a fresh install Of Ea desktop ( after making sure i had nothing left from EA ) on my C: drive ( no idea if this has any impact )
5. When the app first launched it didn't work, i closed it, launched it in administrator mode and i could FINALLY see the Ea play up
I'm downloading a game right now to test if everything works and if you don't see another post after this one it means it did work !
Hope you guys won't have to go through all of this as i did.
