cant connect epic account to ea. someting went wrong.. go back and start again

Having exactly the same problem trying to install - Dragon Age: Inquisition – Game of the Year Edition free from Epic. I've got the EA app installed and logged in to but every time I click on install for the new game it says it needs to install the EA app, asked me to login, fails with the same message you have.
