EA App forever says "Preparing Game"

I had no trouble with EA games, of which I own five, until they demanded I install the EA App. Now whenever I try to play a game, the app hangs with the message "Preparing Game". This is not a new problem but I haven't found a solution that works for me in all the prior discussions, and many other users have reported this problem. This would certainly discourage me from buying or recommending any EA game. Below is my system data:
