EA app on Mac crashes

I play the Sims 4 on Mac and recently had to switch from Origin to the EA App. I am so frustrated, because every few hours or so the app makes my game crash. I get a "The Sims 4 closed unexpectedly" pop-up, which then deletes any progress I've made since it saved last. So so frustrating. Never had the problem, until I was forced to switch over to the EA App. I knew people were complaining about it, but I thought 'sure, but the app is still so new, it's probably going to be fine by the time it gets to Mac.' Well, clearly it has not been fixed. Please please EA, do better.
