Ea app on Mac stuck in updating circle

So, my game has been updating for about an hour or so now. Or should I better say preparing for update for an hour. I updated my game earlier this month, but when I popped in today there was a new update. I have heard the stories online about needing to update the game before tomorrow, so I rushed and tried to update it. But it just doesn't wanna move from the endless circle of preparing for the said update. My internet connection is fine (I did restart the router already), I restarted the app as well, but nothing is helping. Sometimes I get a pop up saying "Thing are getting longer than usual to load up. Hang tight while we try to solve the problem." but as soon as it appears, it disappears as well.

I don't know which of the stories online are true about not being able to play the game after tomorrow if it's not updated. But I don't want to lose the game or the money I spent for it just because there was something wrong with the app while I was trying to update it on time.

So if there is anything that could help this situation or if there is some information about the update thing till tomorrow, please share.

Thanks.

    Sounds like you've been reading some very dramatic stories online! There is an update to EA App, I think tomorrow the 10 June, which requires the Sims 4 to be fully patched up to date (6 June patch) to work after EA App has been updated. You won't lose your game or money and whoever is telling you that is talking utter rubbish. I suspect this is something to do with DirectX11 which was recently updated in the patch for Windows users in which case it's totally irrelevant for Mac users. You should always patch your game though 🙂

    Manually reset EA App and see if that helps with the update issue - https://bluebellflora.com/2024/04/04/ea-app-recovery-for-mac-reset-ea-app-by-clearing-cache-and-other-files-manually/

    Thank you for the answer. I’ll try restating the app again. Like I said my game has been up to date till this morning since it usually automatically updates whenever I log into the app. This was the first time I encountered any problem with it.
    but thanks for the information, I feel better about it already.

    @Evaamariaaa

    Not restarting EA App, manually resetting it. This involves trashing a bunch of related files and folders. Follow the instructions in the link in my previous post.

    Whether your game has been up to date or not up until now is irrelevant, EA App isn't patching the game as it should so resetting the app may help.

    I tried doing it like it described in your link, but now EA app won't even open ☹️

    I don't know what to do

    GOT IT ALL SOLVED! I deleted the app from my computer and just reinstalled everything back. Now it works completely fine.
    Still, thanks for your support 🙂
