EA app on mac stuck on cancel

A few days ago i tried to update Sims 4 on my macbook and it wouldnt update, so i figured i would try cancelling and redownloading the update. now its been stuck on cancelling for 2 days. ive tried c...

I had this today and had a look online.

To clear I opened the EA App, selected Help > App Recovery > Clear Cache

Then did Help > Restart App 

This cancelled the download and has now downloaded the full game for me.

what do u press to get to help? it says there should be a button with three dashes but my mac doesnt have that for some reason

    In the menu bar at the top of your desktop when you have EA App open.
