EA App updating my game even though I have automatic updates off

Question

EA App just automatically updated my The Sims 4 game (patch was published yesterday) even though I have "Update games automatically" off in my EA App settings. This is so uppsetting, since I have put that setting off for a reason! I don't want to update my game before I know the update is safe (the latest have been braking games so bad) and I have updated my mods. I have done this for years and know how to do it, my settings should be fine and I set EA App offline so I can still play without updating. I haven't even opened the App after the update became public and still, somehow, when I did open it, it said the update was complete. Could you please fix your App so that it works according to the settings we choose?

Hvae the same issue, APP updating, that's normal but then it shows Autoupdate off and I'm offline, it remember that setting but still updated the game, this act as a *cking VIRUS Stop your forced update and stop taking control over how I play my game, Having a Family that started 2016. Each&nbsp; time you force update the game it takes me days/weeks to fix the mods and rest to work again. If your app doing stuff in MY computer without my concent... it's a VIRUS

Since then I have learned that starting the game from The Sims 4 shortcut will start automatic updating. I don't know why & would be nice if it asked before updating if the app settings are set to no automatic updates.

So if you don't want your game to update, always use EA app shortcut, put you app offline and then start the game from there.
