Re: "EA is not responding" Error at Start (Feb. 2026)

Today I went to play one of my games, and the app was closed, even though I always keep it open, but when I tapped it to open it wouldn't, its says " not responding " I tried to 3 times, then waited a bit, and it finally opened, but told me I had restart the app, saying it couldn't connect to the server, basically saying I have to be connected to the internet just to launch the app, so I can play the games I paid for. 

But then when I again tried to relaunch it, it did the same thing, not responding, so I decided to check the forum to see if anyone else was having this issue, and then when I didn't see any, decided to post one myself. But while I was getting ready to, I saw that it appeared that the app had launched, but it was minimized, when I hovered my pointer over the app on the taskbar, it showed that the app was fully open, but when I tried to enlarge it, it wouldn't, so I had to close it again, and tried again to get it to launch normally, and made sure it wasn't minimized, and it finally once again, came to the whole thing about needing to restart the app. 

Boy am I glad I haven't bought the new The Sims 4 pack, since I can't even play my game or any game period on the EA App. I swear I never had as much trouble with Origin, as I have had with your EA app. You need to fix it, but then you wont even fix the games really, at least not without breaking something else in them. 

You know I have NEVER had a problem launching or using in any way, Steam's app, I just wish I had all my EA games over there instead of on your app.

    I am experiencing this problem as well. EA App gets stuck on launch. It says '' close the program or wait until it responds''.  The only solution, or at least temporary was to uninstall and re-install EA App. I have never had a serious problem like this. I can't play any game i have installed due to this inconvenience.

    Mine has also been doing this for over a MONTH. and i cant play the one game i want to because I need the app to do so, apparently.

    To add to my own post, today I tried first to repair it, which popped up when I went to uninstall the app in my PC's programs, but then after I did what it asked and restarted my PC, the when I tried to start it, the icon didn't work anymore, as if I had uninstalled the app. So this time I did uninstall it. Then I tried to open it again, with the new icon, and it came up, showed some things, but then froze, stopped responding. And now its just doing the same thing it was doing before I reinstalled it. 

    Last night it at least had that page that told me I had to restart the app, but showed me the games I have installed, so I could still select one to play, so I played The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, was playing for a while and then it crashed, I thought it was the game, but then it turned out the EA app had went crazy, was just black space, and had become enlarged, it took up the whole screen, but was totally blacked out. And I couldn't close it, I had to use task manager to close it. 

    I mean this app is a mess, and considering you just released that new expansion for The Sims 4, that is pretty bad, all the people who bought it wont even be able to play the game now. Unless they bought TS4 on Steam, which has NEVER had anything like this happen to it, at least I have never experienced it. It always works, but then as I said Origin also wasn't as bad as this EA app, which has always had problems since you switched us all to it. 

    I wont hold my breath waiting for you to fix this, I guess I will have to play a game on Steam instead.
