EA Connect Voice Chat Not Working Cross-Platform (PC and PS5) – FC26
Hey everyone,
After hours of troubleshooting, I’ve managed to narrow down a voice chat issue I’m experiencing in EA Connect while playing FC26 on PC, and I’m hoping someone here has encountered the same thing.
Setup:
• I play on PC; 5 out of 7 of my Clubs teammates are on PS5
• All PS5 players have an EA ID through PSN, so we’re already connected as friends on EA Connect
• No issues with cross-platform gameplay itself, this is purely a voice communication problem
The Issue:
Voice chat only works if my friend (also on PC) hosts the party. The moment I host, or when I try to connect directly with my PS5 friends, voice chat breaks down completely. No audio in either direction, and the voice activity indicator (the small pop-up in the bottom right that shows who is speaking) does not appear at all.
If a PC player hosts, it works. If I host or connect directly with PS5 players, it does not.
What I’ve already checked:
• Voice chat is enabled in EA Connect settings
• I cannot find any additional voice/audio settings beyond the basic toggle
• Gameplay cross-play functions perfectly, this is isolated to voice
My theory:
This feels like a cross-platform party/session authority issue. Something about how the host’s platform handles voice routing may be affecting PC-to-PS5 communication when the session originates from my end.
Has anyone else run into this? Any settings I might be missing, or is this a known bug? Any help or guidance from the community would be really appreciated. Thanks!
