F1 24 crashes on launch with ntdll.dll access violation (0xc0000005)

Report Id: ba9c5d10-b4da-4f87-adb1-eb2a392f0a07

- up is the code for the crash via event viewer.

EA Desktop repeatedly crashes with the same error, which also prevents F1 24 from launching (crashes at the "press any button" screen, or shortly after). The crash is 100% consistent -  same exception code and fault offset every time.

nothing resolved it

Me too, I tried to reinstall the game, the anticheat and also restoring windows files but nothing changed

  • Same here, spent hours trying to get this to work but no avail. Same error you have, eadesktop.exe seems to be the problem here. Hopefully they fix it soon :(

Hi, I'm experiencing exactly the same problem, but with EA SPORTS WRC.

The game was working perfectly before (I played for around 3 hours without any crashes). Then, suddenly, it started crashing shortly after entering the main menu.

In my case, the game closes about 60 seconds after startup, with no error message or crash report.

I've already spent a lot of time trying to troubleshoot this issue. I have contacted several EA Support advisors and followed many of the suggested troubleshooting steps.

    I have already tried:

    - Repairing game files through the EA App

    - Completely reinstalling the EA App

    - Reinstalling EA Anti-Cheat

    - Clearing the EA App cache

    - Performing a clean NVIDIA driver installation

    - Running Windows DISM and SFC repairs

    - Testing RAM (no errors found)

    - Creating a new Windows administrator account

    - Testing Exploit Protection modifications

    - Performing a clean boot to exclude background software and overlays

    Unfortunately, nothing has changed.

In Windows Event Viewer I get:

    Faulting application: EADesktop.exe

    Faulting module: ntdll.dll

    Exception Code: 0xc0000005 (Access Violation)

I also noticed that other users recently reported very similar crashes, including cases involving EA App components and other EA titles.

The common symptoms seem to be:

    - The game worked normally before

    - Sudden crashes without any error message

    - Crash shortly after reaching the main menu

I hope EA can investigate this issue, because the standard troubleshooting steps do not seem to resolve it.
