Going mental trying to delete Origin

So I've had the EA App for a while now, no issues, but the app did not remove Origin from my PC when first installed, and an uninstall and reinstall has not changed that. Origin is currently taking up 143GB on one of my drives with installs of games I cannot get rid of. The games were installed on Steam, and have been uninstalled through Steam, but the Origin folder remains with the games in it. I cannot open Origin to uninstall them manually, as I cannot launch it in offline mode due to it 'needing an update'. I cannot launch it in online mode as it "cannot connect". I am also not confident enough in my PC registry to go through with the "Hard Way" of uninstalling Origin. Origin also does not appear on the "Add or Remove programs" option, or the Control Panel "Uninstall Programs" option. Additionally, the EA App does not recognise that the games are installed or have files anywhere on my PC.

Can I just delete the folder?

  • @Not_Laos27  Yes, you can just delete the folder.  You can also try using Revo Uninstaller to remove Origin, which would clear out the app and the associated registry entries; or delete the folder manually and then use Piriform's CCleaner to clean the registry.  The free version of either app is fine.
