So in theory you can go to the EA app, click go offline and then play the Sims 4 offline. The issue is to launch the EA app in the first place you must have internet connection. So if you aren't able to go online, you cannot go offline? Am I missing something here? I refuse to believe the EA app could be so poorly designed but I have a feeling that is exactly the problem. Please prove me wrong.
PS. I have tried creating a Sims 4 shortcut for my desktop, but again clicking on this just triggers the EA app to launch, which like I said requires you to be online so does not solve my problem.
Apparently EA have corrected that "bug"(?), I don't use official EA software anymore because of this very issue, I suspect that the always online requirement was so that they could surreptitiously gather gameplay patterns to feed their AI which is reputedly being implemented in their much vaunted sims 5 ( project rene). however as you say that you are still having to go online in order to even start the EA app, I suspect that the !bug!(?) has not been properly resolved.
