My internet was down earlier today so I decided to play The Sims 4 only to discover that I can't because you Must have an internet connection to launch the EA app. Seriously? As others have pointed out, the game is stored on my hard drive, it's a single player game not a multi-player game and why cant we access a game we've paid for without the internet?
The EA app needs to automatically put you in offline mode if it can't detect an internet connection or at least give you the ability to select Offline mode when trying to launch the EA app. Right now there is no ability to do so.
Through no fault of our own, the internet does go down from time to time and there are players in rural areas with unreliable internet service. Not being able to access legally purchased single player games offline is not ok.
I see that this issue has been brought up for a good many years now too. There's definitely a demand for offline access.
