Hey Everyone,
I took a look at this again to see if there was an update. As of now, the issue is still on their log but unfortunately, they are working on other issues that have taken priority. With the number of fixes that have worked and the steps they have advised, we cannot say when this issue itself will be resolved.
Simple solution: Give us Origin back, and delay the EA App further, until every bit of basic functionality is in place. - Refer to my angry post about the other issues. The problem lies within the App, not recognizing some files that Origin used to launch certain games. Simply put, it tries to execute code that was meant for Origin.

@THE_Crazy_Hyena I wish it were that easy. The bottom line is that Origin will not be coming back so that sadly is not a solution any longer. - 2 years ago
@EA_Shepard Do you have any comment on this previous reply? This is quite a direct response stating that Anthem is bottom-line never going to function. I am placing faith in your information and keeping my patience with me as I go but it seems to contradict your information heavily.
Reply in question:
"EA Rep (6/20/2023, 9:34:37 AM): Thank you for sharing the complete information, In this case I would like to provide you some information that our players are unable to play anthem because as this game is now the sunset game means The game doesn't support the EA app at all because developers stopped the support so playing Anthem on EA app is impossible." - EA_Shepard2 years ago

What is happening is a sort of entitlement conflict between different editions and EA Play subs that have caused most of this issue. For a moment live support was able to make changes but they asked them to stop because they were going to fix it on the backend for all players. Most of this has been resolved on our end but not all. Some issues that they are working on do take precedence over others and sadly we really do not have control over what games teams fix over others.

@EA_Shepard I think that most of us that are posting want to enjoy a game that we paid for. To that end there are now close to 17 pages on this anthem forum, saying it is not working. I think that someone should be looking at this. It sounds like EA knows the problem, but does not care to fix it. Is EA going to refund players for product it refuses to support? Or is EA going to continue engage interstate deceptive trade practices?
@FromTheWolfs Allow me to try and help where EA may not directly respond to this feedback.
Anthem and more specifically Bioware made decisions along the line that cause a drastic decline in player base a long time ago, Years ago in fact. Anthem is now a niche love for players like myself and plenty of others as well. Any of us trying to enjoy the game for any reason would love it to work and get back to the content we enjoyed.
However, throwing "deceptive business practices" out there is far from the truth. Your emotions are not misplaced with the situation but I think its important to understand that in the same concept of business practices, which is the better maneuver? Focusing internal teams and assets on a game that is not updated or really supported by its developers anymore but still have a sizeable niche player base who have issues accessing it, or Focusing those resources on certain live service games and sustained or newer titles that have issues in order to keep BAU? It is not "evil" or "deceptive" for EA as a business to operate in it's own best interest and align tasks accordingly.@EA_Shepard has been as transparent as he can be with us and that alone wipes "deceptive" from this conversation.
Again, You have every right to be frustrated but we should be thankful that we are still on the list. - 2 years ago@Chr5_Twitch Well said bro :-) I come back here to check the status everyday! I really just wanna play again ahaha

@FromTheWolfs I am not sure where you garnered that I am an EA representative. I have no reach or capacity within EA as a company, I am simply another player hoping that a game I enjoyed will eventually come back online just like everyone else on this forum. I have been participating in this forum for a little over a week now and did just not appear because of your statements and attacks on EA.
I attempted to help provide understanding of the situation from a business perspective as I have worked in management for almost 5 years now and can give some insight and logistics behind why EA may have put Anthem on the side for now. I would also say however going around in a forum where people are providing assistance and threatening things like litigation and making harsh statements is not going to be beneficial for anyone. No one is providing us any false information, This issue is also not just affecting Anthem players but also a wide variety of titles. There is another forum thread I am keeping up with where there are 33 pages of replies with report IDs on the issue. So the fix is not as easy as "just fix it", yes EA may have identified the issue itself but if the fix was that easy it would have been completed already.

Hey Yall,
I appreciate the opinions and views here and I take these to the team daily. It has not been forgotten, I have not forgotten about this issue either. We want to play the games we enjoy. I mean I started another playthrough of Skyrim this weekend just because I wanted to run around and fight dragons again. I did ask for an update on this situation this morning. I am waiting for one as well.
I loved Anthem, and I played this for quite a while. Ranger all the way!

Any solution so far? I need to play this game again but seems like EA apps is not supporting this game anymore, please advice.
Hey, haven't tried it myself, but from what I could gather, you can play the game if you take Ea Pro. No other way right now I think except waiting for the fix (if it either comes).

We need a pinned comment system where the comment appears on every page at the top so people know the situation of the thread.

@EA_Shepard
It really is that easy. Allow Origin to stay. Allow Origin as a legacy client for older games. Games that has been repeatedly complained about not working with EA App.
There are people (like in this case) who can not play their favorite games on the new client. Are they really needed to abandon their games? Games they spent money on, and many, many hours of time on.What about all the dedicated people who still play Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect 3 multiplayer? Are they going to have to quit playing because you can not join or invite friends in those game with the EA App? Or not being able to even download the games (and DLC) normally?
What about the people spending hundreds of dollars on Sims DLC's and finding out they are permanently removed when launching the game through EA App?
What about all the other issues? Seriously, allow Origin to stay as a legacy client.
That is my opinion at least. I am sure there are many who agree.Sorry about the rants, but someone needs to spread the word. Hopefully someone can see the root cause soon, and have a solution ready in not too long
- 2 years ago@Dave941107 Not Yet, EA_Shephard is graciously checking up on it daily for us so that we are not left behind but so far from what we've been advised, there is an entitlement issue with the EA Plus/PRO version and people like myself who back the game on origin way back on release. Keep up with the thread though!

I've been coming back to this thread for a while, as I've been wanting to play some Anthem again on PC. Thanks for keeping us updated with progress. Hopefully a fix can be implemented soon.

works for me today, so whatever they did this time worked
- 2 years ago@Aonodensetsu Can you confirm for myself and other users if you are enrolled in EA Play or not? Just to keep tabs on which end might be fixed.
I attempted my version again this morning and still got the error even after performing another repair. - EA_Shepard2 years ago

@Aonodensetsu Glad to hear it is now working for you! - 2 years ago
Still having issues today
Same for me I bought the DLC recently because I wanted to play it again but impossible to launch it always the same message...
I'm on PC I bought the game when it was released, I took the gamepass recently so with EA PLAY (not pro) but still nothing it's a shame for a company of this magnitude.

@Chr5_Twitch i do not have EA Play (and never had), today it showed the error once then worked
- 2 years ago

@Aonodensetsu Did you make any changes to this before it gave the error and then worked? Any different updates, changes, programs etc? - 2 years ago
no changes, the first boot was from GOG Galaxy, which I use as my universal launcher, and that failed (it runs the EXE directly), the second boot that worked was from the EA app which opened automatically to show the error from that previous run, I just clicked okay on the error and then clicked Play
same thing today, fyi - EA_Shepard2 years ago

@Aonodensetsu Gotcha. GOG I can't do much about it other than report that over. If it ran from the EA App, but not GOG, I would add an exception for GOG into the firewall settings or AV settings and run it again to see what happens. Just to test it out.
