I have the exact same problem. It's impossible to start the app. So impossible to play. I tried to delete the app, delete the Sims game, reboot the Mac. I am completely stuck and I don't know what to do. I saw there is no way to keep using Origin. I have a MacBook Air M1 by the way and I have no app such an antivirus running on it.
Me too. Crashed my computer three times today. Not happy. Can EA stop releasing buggy stuff? You are aware there are so many new sim type games coming? Time to sort your stuff out.

Which macOS are you running?
Any antivirus/cleaner apps that may be blocking EA App?
@bluestrawbery - did your Mac completely freeze forcing you to hold down the power button to turn it off or did it restart itself? If it restarted itself, did you see a message appear onscreen (this is a kernel panic).

Thanks! Could you open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access, take a screenshot and post it here?
