PSA: Sims 4 "Failed to launch game - An error on our end" -> Check Your Mods!

Sims 4 has failed to launch for some weeks now. I've uninstalled and redownloaded multiple times, repaired multiple times, as well as moved folders around and nothing seems to have worked.  I've attached the error message I get when I try to launch.

If you haven't already, please remove your Mods folder, delete localthumbcache.package, and repair the game (EA App > Sims 4 > Manage > Repair or Steam > Sims 4 > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of the game files).  Then try again to play.

If this doesn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If this doesn't help either, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

My internet is perfectly fine (working well on all other devices, tv, phone, websites, etc.) and other STEAM games are working fine. However, trying to launch sims, I get "The app timed out" and a prompt to check my internet connection. This has NEVER happened before. I'm not sure what's going on, but it seems like an EA outage or EA error. HELP!!

I don't know if you have already tried this or not. But, try deleting the game entirely and reboot the computer and then reinstall the game and see if that works.

It came out of nowhere for me, it's so strange! If you find a solution please share and I'll do the same but I'm not sure what else to do.

I'm having the same problem! It's been weeks now, and it started with the EA app refusing to update/repair my game. It won't even download other games. I decided to try reinstalling the game through Steam, and every single time I get the "An error on our end..." message when I try to launch it. I tried every possible solution I could find all across the internet, still nothing.
