I finally figured it out! If anyone has a similar problem try this: delete the EA app and download Origin. When you sign in to Origin use your email, not your username. For me when I tried to use my username Origin would crash and get stuck on the loading screen. When you’re signed in you just download the EA app from Origin and it should work like normal. Hope this helps others too!!
This happens to me after every update to TS4. I keep a copy of the EAappInstaller file in my downloads. If you attempt to run the installer, it will give you the option to repair the EA app. This usually resolves the issue. You will have to repin the program to your taskbar, if you have it saved there.
To be perfectly clear, this is not a solution or a fix. EA still needs to resolve this problem. They must ensure their app works properly and not rely on users finding work arounds for its bugs.
