Hey @JISPIX,

Could you try to download Apex Legends (free game) through Steam, cancel the download halfway, reboot your PC, and check if you're able to launch BF1 through Steam?

If not, start the download of Apex Legends again through Steam, check if you can boot the game correctly, close it, check if you can boot BF1.

    Have tried both. Still gives me the same error.

  • @EA_LeeuwI am having this same issue and cannot launch any EA games I download through Steam. I get the "don't have access" error message, and the games do not appear in my collection in the EA app. I have an EA Play subscription through steam but the app does not seem to recognize this as there is an option in the app to join EA Play. This issue happened shortly after I chose to not have my annual EA Play subscription renew when it runs out at the ends of the year, but I still have about 11 months left. Your fix did not work for me. Please advise on how I can resolve this or how to get a refund for my EA Play subscription, since as of now I cannot launch any EA games.

    Hey @freshquire,

    It is normal that the EA app doesn't recognise that you have EA Play on Steam, because the EA app and Steam are considered two different platforms. Therefore, if you purchase EA Play on Steam, you can only use it to claim games that are available for EA Play on Steam, not games that are available via EA Play for EA app.

    Have you tried the workaround that is posted on the 1st page of this thread?

    Everyone has tried every single * workaround. The posts on this thread date back to MARCH of 2022. How the * is this still an issue. 

  • I am having the same issue with fallen order,  The contact us tech support is not user friendly, there is no obvious way to reply to a response, or to see what you have said previously.

    After 3 responses they didnt actually directly reference anything I said and just gave me generic troubleshooting. After twice promising to "surely do my best" they closed the case after thanking me for reporting a bug.  Im not reporting a bug, I want help to get a game I purchased to run!

    Doubtful I will be purchasing any more EA games unless this one gets resolved.  Its gamble otherwise.

    Confirm that this is NOT solved. tried the apex solution, and uninstall/restart/administrator re-install 3 times (1 TB of download). none of it worked.

  • @EA_LeeuwCan you please split this thread? The solution from March 2022 clearly do not work for the dozens of people who have this issue since the EA app updated last month. We're logged into the right account, and the solutions of repair installation, app recovery, install Apex and cancel, Uninstall- restart- reinstall, etc do NOT work. Uninstalling EA app and installing Origin does not work either, since Origin says it needs to update to latest version, but cannot download the latest version...

    Some communication on if you still believe this is resolved or believe that we are all idiots with the problem entirely in our end (ie, community managers triaged all the recent 70+ posts in this thread && devs are NOT working on a solution)
    OR
    if you've communicated the problem to the developers, they recognize that it is a problem, and there is work on an update would be appreciated.

    I contacted ea support through live chat, they quickly solved my problem.

    So I have spoken to EA Support Live Chat, and they were unable to help me. They could not see Battlefield 4 in my “entitlements” in my Steam account and so suggested I speak to Steam Support, or get a refund from Steam and then purchase on EA App directly.

    You have to provide them with a proof of purchase from steam, like the email receipt you received from  buying the game.

    *sigh* I offered proof of purchase as you can see in my screenshot, but they said it had nothing to do with purchasing...this is dumb.

  • @SpicySniper12I submitted a ticket instead of chat last Monday including stream receipt. They asked for 3 sets of information instead of all at once, I responded within the hour for each request, but they took 24-48 hrs to respond each time. At the end of it all, they said Friday "devs are looking into it, check the forms for update, kthxbai."

    What did they tell you? I'm stuck on this problem on Battlefield 1 and it was a gift from a friend so I dont really want to refund it.
