Re: EA App Download Error - There's a Problem With Your Download

Same here... tried 3 time so far... I agree to terms dialog and it shows preparing (preparing... it gets to 14% )... then the download error pops up (Paused 1%). I clicked cancel and tried to Repair and same error... cleared the cache of the EA App... nothing working.

41 min later... I am now getting it to repair, I wish I tried update first again (I did add a dummy text file renamed to .exe and a folder to the C:\program files\EA Games... my games are saved on a different drive). The update is updating the one on the correct drive so I am not sure if that did anything or they just fixed the issue. I am just keeping a log of my steps to see if it helps anyone else... 

Just read the post below...  looks like EA reset my game folder from where my games were to C:\Program Files\EA Games... Hey EA... maybe an error message like "Game Not Found at location XYZ, check your installation directory path in Setting/Download" would be more intuitive if you decide to change it to the default with the EA App...

Hey Guys, I had the same issue, but the fix is actually simple: check the download location in the settings. In my case this was changed automatically (thanks EA) to some other location as what I had configured. Changing it back to where my games are fixed my issue and downloading could be restarted (clear the running download!). Hope this helps some people out!

Tried to download Battlefield 2042 update... had the same error as those above.

Cleared EA App cache, still same error. 

Uninstalled and reinstalled EA App, still same error

Tried to contact EA which appears to be near impossible, after around 30mins of trawling through the forums and EA "help" sites I am unable to find a solution, but randomly now after almost an hour of trying to install a simple game update, it is now downloading...

Awful experience. Why is it always EA apps/games that always seem to have these problems? If EA can't keep their own apps working they should pay to use someone elses. Absolute shambles of a company

@GijntjesHmm, I set it to my BF2042 directory (D:\Games\, was C:\Program Files\EA Games\) and it helped, BF2042 is finally updating! BUT I'm not sure this was the reason it worked, could've been a coincidence.
