All this time later and I'm still having this problem. I don't what to do and I'm beyond infuriated at this point. I spend money on the Sims 4 and I can't even play it. EA... DO SOMETHING
I'm Having the same issue and it is very upsetting to me. I tried to open the game yesterday and experienced this error and have still not found a fix. I reinstalled the EA app twice and even reinstalled my games too and still didn't work
When I deleted the game and redownload it’s taking forever also 😡
It has been almost two weeks mu sims 4 wont open no matter what i do i paid for all my add ons not mention the game now you wont let me play just fix it and now i cant even open the ea app..

I moved the "The Sims 4" to the desktop and made sure its not in the Electronics Art folder in Documents.
Then I uninstall my Sims 4 and then uninstall my EA App.
I re-downloaded my EA App and re-install The Sims 4.
I had to go back and move all my saves to the new folder created so I can keep playing my old household in the game.
It took a really long time but it worked after I didn't get much help when I talked to an EA support.

ok so this worked for me ......... close ea app and re download origin and install it, then boot it up ...... origin will ask you to update to the ea app when you do, it will say you have already installed the ea app and give you a option to repair, all my games worked after repairing the app this way, hope this works for you

@Davirnot really a pic to show, all my games are working now, just search for a origin app link and install it, it wont let you use it but will prompt you to install the ea app, when you click to do so it will find your ea app and give you a repair option, once i clicked the repair option it repaired the ea app (it will also uninstall origin during this) and all my games work now
But it don’t Work with me
other solutions people posted didnt work for me, this one did, i only posted it for others to try, it worked for me, here is a pic of spore working just a few minutes ago, hope you find a solution that works for you
