Been having this problem on and off. Eventually i couldn't get my game to open at all. Had to update it, idk how to that manually, but it eventually came up as an option after trying to get the app to work repeatedly. Don't know if this helps but i'll put it anyway🙂

I am getting this error too. I get either the EC 104 or Background Services Crashed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, repaired the app, and repaired the Microsoft V++ redistributions but I still cannot get the app to load. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I don't know what else to do. I have tried to run it on my mobile hot spot and the same thing happens there too.

I do them in a new account or in safe mode with networking
none of this worked. Still get the same error. Is reinstalling my OS the only option at this point? I don't know what else to do. Uninstalling with revo does not work anymore. I can try again to uninstall V++ redistribution and redownload, but I have done that already and I don't want to have to do that every time I want to open the EA app.
Community Manager@interstellar420 I would do it all through the control panel first. Honestly, I would wipe all those programs and do a fresh install of them first. We can't suggest an OS reinstall as that would be entirely your choice.
What I do is I try to wipe every file and folder related to these first. Then go from there.
forgive my ignorance but what do you mean by "try to wipe every file and folder related to these"? what files? i am not really sure what you mean. this is still not working for me. if i open task manager, i see EA Background services pop up but then it goes away right after, as if it wants to start but then is blocked.
Community Manager@interstellar420 Take a look at the Uninstall C++ link. It walks you through. Essentially, once uninstalled, you have to navigate through Windows and delete the folders pertaining to that program. That is not something we can do with you since we arent Microsoft.
There are plenty of walkthroughs online to assist you with this one.
