Summarize your bug Since the the forced switch from Origin to EA app, I'm unable to play my games. EA app crash during installation process with the following error "INST-21-32"
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? The application seem to load and download element online but crash after about 1 min of work
What happens when the bug occurs? Happen on installation. I tried to re download the EA app installer on official website every 2 weeks for the last 4 month.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see an installation the can complete itself without errors... Origin was trouble free for me. EA App installer is broken in my case.

EA app keep crashing on install

I tried the following:

clean boot => error INST-21-32

reinstalled the last .NET Framework => error INST-21-32

Run as administrator => Error INST-21-32

I have no Error ID to provide since ErrorReporter.exe is nowhere to be found , both in program file and in windows search...

something that helped me getting more hints about the issue was to search for my error number into the latest EA_app_[...].msi.log file (in C:\Users\{}\AppData\Local\Temp folder)
not sure why this is not advertised anywhere, but it helped a lot in my case (searching for 1603, my error number, and getting the failing stacktrace) so maybe it could help you 🙂

I saw the same error message and solved it this way. If you were a RAM disc user, you would have changed Windows temp path. I changed it to the original Windows temp path, rebooted and installed the ea app, and the installation finished well. Before I changed this, I tried to install the ea app, but the same error message came up, so I couldn't install the ea app. Give that a try. I hope it's settled well.

Building on this reply:
For anyone who still hasn't resolved their problem through the guide or had the same error i did ( INST-18-773, which still doesn't have a solution on there), in the log file saved in the C:\Users\{}\AppData\Local\Temp folder, search for a url that contains 'origin-a.akamaihd.net/EA-Desktop-Client-Download/' , then copy the whole URL (up until .msi) and paste it in your browser window to download the installer manually instead of via the EA app installer exe. Downloaded and installed the app that way with zero problems.
