Re: EA app is censoring literally EVERYTHING. Please help

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with the in-app chat where anything I type is automatically replaced with #####.

I have not received any emails, notifications, or warnings from EA about a chat ban, suspension, or violation, and my account status appears normal. I can still access everything else without issues; it is only the chat function that is affected.

I’ve already tried the following:

Restarting the app
Logging out and back in
Checking my email and EA notifications

None of these have resolved the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this, or is there a known issue with chat filtering or account sync at the moment? I’d appreciate any guidance on whether this is a bug or something that needs to be escalated.

Yup I’ve been fighting this issue for maybe two weeks now. Chat filtering due to flagged chat too many times. Only occurrences were normal words being sent as #### in normal conversation. However I suspect flagging has occurred mostly due to EAAntiCheat on pc which for months has caused daily game crashes for myself and many users and requires an instill reinstall of EAAntiCheat. The crashes themselves are likely being flagged by the background service as a security or standards issue.

You’ll get no help from EA here. Only way I was able to get emails and a case number was going to the ea help site without being signed in from an incognito window and writing up my issue that way. According to several Reddit posts this was the only way to get help and anything logged in sent in forums is a waste of time.
Most frustrating is after several emails, mostly saying thanks for contacting them (one indicated I can reply to those emails direct), a named EA support rep sent a generic “sorry about this, we know it’s frustrating, here to help, here’s a link” email that gave a link to “how to update my windows”. Of course, this had absolutely nothing to do with the issue. At this point all I could do was reply to the email that said I could reply and explain the email with link was unhelpful and unrelated to the problem.
