Hi @ka99te,

Did you try to restore your new Mac via a TimeMachine backup by any chance?

    @EA_Leeuw I did not. I used the Migration Assistant as I didn’t see the need to use the TimeMachine. Do you think I should have used it?

    @ka99te, I have the feeling that the Migration Assistant might have broken Origin/EA app, or at least something that those apps depend on.

    Are you able to download Origin for Mac via this link (https://www.dm.origin.com/mac/download), install Origin again, login etc. and see if you get the prompt to migrate again? And see if that fixes it for you?

    @EA_Leeuw I thought that too. So I uninstalled everything from the Migration assistant and downloaded Origin from their site. I still get the prompt to migrate to the EA app. And like I mentioned above, I even installed an older version of Origin but it won’t go online so I can’t use it properly. I’m really stuck.

    I'm having this same issue and have done everything that the person before me has tried. I just tried following the steps you provided and then re-downloaded origin to see if I'd be able to play my game and it still tried forcing for to install the EA app

    @silliestduck I followed the prompt to download the EA app and I'm able to play my game somehow. Even though EA says that the app isn't available for Mac yet. weird... i will update this thread after toodling around in game for a bit.

    So I followed all the steps, and nothing is working still, the EA App Migrator lasts for all of 5 seconds before Origin completely shuts down and refuses to work. I have OS Catalina, so I don't understand what the problem is, as the EA App was working literally three days ago for me. Please help, I just bought a Sims 4 DLC bundle and I'd really like to use it, but I can't even access my games ☹️((

    I’m having the same issue too! Every time I try to open the EA app it says error 106???  I’ve tried everything and nothing seems to work

  • On Friday I was forced to switch to the EA App. At first it wouldn’t even download. But I finally got that part done. It won’t open at all. No error messages because it won’t open. I’ve uninstalled Origin and uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app numerous times now. Same thing. My OS is Sonoma and I have the space. I’’m VERY unhappy that I can’t play my Sims game. What are you going to do about this EA??? You should have cleared the bugs before FORCING us to switch!

  • This new app doesn’t work at all in Mac, I already clean up all the storage, restarted it about five times now and it just shows that there’s an error from sims 4 WHAT THE HECKKKK

  • i have the same issue, I can download the ea app, use it one time, and the next time it doesn't work at all anoying af

  • @eulmkz3im86m I'm having trouble as well, I've been trying to play my Sims games for days I uninstalled, and download it again even the EA app.

    @kyleemadison04 yeah same, I was looking forward to play sims again after I bought a new MacBook, so its really annoying that it doesn't work.....

    I ALREADY SHOWED AN SS ABOUT THE ISSUE BUT STILL, THERE IS NO ANSWER, EVEN SOME OF THE PLAYERS ADVICE ME SOME HACKER BUT THAT´S NOT FOR ME.

    I HAVE MONEY INVESTED IN MY GAMES SO THE LESS THAT I EXPECT IS TO BE ABLE TO PLAY WHENEVER I WANT TO, DON´T PUT SOME UPDATES "TO IMPROVE THE GAME EXPERIENCE" IF THIS UPDATES ARE NOT READY, ORIGIN HAD ISSUES BUT THIS, THIS IS A NIGHTMARE!

    Hello I have an update. Today I have deleted EA app and download it again on the official website and it works. A new version has been released but now I don’t succeed to update My Sims 4 😂 (it’s stuck to 639 MB, ang I have 434 GO available on my disc…) Another day another problem !

    Hi Guys!

    I have fixed my EA app!!!! Yayyyy

    I'm not sure what made me think of this but I thought I would try going into my finder and just searching up Electronic Arts in the search bar (top right) Three folders named electronic arts came up, I was hesitant at first but I have already saved all my custom content on my desktop in a separate folder so I went ahead and put all three folders in trash them emptied my trash. For some reason when I once again went to launch the EA app IT FINALLY WORKED! I'm not very computer savvy and I don't know exactly why this worked for me or if it will work for everyone but its worth trying as my app is now back up and working as normal!

  • @CMcI1 I fixed it through same method !! 나도 이 방법으로 고쳤어요 !!! sonoma 14.5로 update 하고 고생했는데 Solved it!! 

  • that same thing is happening to me. it picks and chooses when it wants to work.

    I wonder if (at least for me) if this is an issue on my mac bc the ea app will prompt me to enter my mac credentials randomly. sometimes the app will work, sometimes it wont.

    the ea app for mac has created the worst experience ive ever had in the 20+ years ive been playing the game franchise.

    Origin app has never given me any issues, Ea app has been an absolute nightmare to try to navigate.

    and im sure no one wants to have to uninstall a client (ex. ea app) and reinstall client to *fingers crossed* hope that the app works  OR have to constantly restart their machine...
