    Our teams are still working hard to get to the bottom of this issue. Unfortunately, we don't have an exact timeframe for when the issue will be fixed.

  • @EA_Leeuw Hi, the fact that re-buying the base game solves the problem (it did for me and everyone else who rebought it on this thread) suggests that the issue is that somehow EA app does not recognize that you own the game (although it is strange that it will download the base game but not the expansions). While you investigate why that is, why don't you just automatically apply a new base game key to everyone who already owns the base game or give them an option to "rebuy" the game for free? I realize you want to get to the bottom of this and understand why it is happening, but it has been way too long. At this point you need to offer a temporary fix/ solution to allow players to access their content while your team is working to trouble shoot this. Once you solve the problem, you can reverse/ retract the temporary solution. I won't argue that it should not take you so long to fix this but at the same time you cannot argue that what I'm saying is not reasonable. Honestly at this point you should be offering the base game for free, I got Sims 4 for free, why not give for free a 10 year old game but instead let players go through this trouble and frustration, time spent by players and EA to deal with help chats and process refunds? I believe that anyway profit is made out of buying the expansions and extra content and not the base game....

    I don't know if it helps, but I was able to load Sims 3 base, and all my items from the Sims 3 store.  I had to make some changes I found online for how to change the settings to allow for the store items to download.  (For a while they weren't downloading either.)  After making a few changes to the settings, and I could at least do that.

    Can a temporary work around be created to allow for folks to access their games to download via the website?

  • I am having this very same issue... I've been off games for a long while, but decided to revisit some old ones, namely the Sims 3. I used to have Origin, which was how I had previously had Sims 3 downloaded on my PC, but with Origin being a Mac only thing now, and I had removed it from my computer years ago, I downloaded the new EA App. Login was fine, it remembers all of my expansion purchases, but, like everyone else in this thread, I have only been able to download the base game. Any time I try to download my purchased expansion packs, I get the same error that something went wrong, try again. Pretty frustrating to see this is a known problem for (at least) a month or more, and no work arounds are being offered..? I mainly wanted to play with my Pets expansion, so I don't care much else about the other expansions, but I can't get it to download - or any of them for that matter. I even logged into the Sims 3 exchange, and I can see my account shows all my expansions and purchases, but I have NONE of them on my game. And, I certainly don't (and can't and won't) purchase a new copy of The Sims 3 since I had already purchased and registered my game years ago.

    I like LadyGwynevire's idea/option, and I'm certain it would be feasible for EA to do...

    And, I share Wyntir's sentiments as well: can you figure out a temporary solution (such as LadyGwynevire's suggestion) for us who are waiting to play games we paid for?

    Appreciate the work on this, but I just feel more could be done..?

    To be honest, given how long it has been an issue and how serious an issue it is for any ts3 players out there, I'm kinda leaning to ts3 becoming abandonware or at least free, if it continues on EA app for a while. It is not fair to expect money for something that is not even working.

    To be fair, its not working for some. Many can play. But the issue seems to spread to other games. I have the same problem with sims 4 and someone else with a third game. Its most likely an app issue, not a game issue. A few days to fix that is expected as much as it sucks for us. But still, after over a month of no visible progress it feels like we have been abandoned.

    Yep, I'm fearing the same. Probably because EA is too proud to admit they made a huge mistake when they killed Origin and forced EA app on us when it was and still clearly is not finished. After a month of as big a problem as this you'd think they'd made some progress if they really were trying to fix it.
