- @EA_David This actually doesn't even work. I recently installed a game and tried it out for a few hours, then decided to uninstall. There is no option in EA Desktop to remove a game like there was in origin. Moreover, my PC didn't list this, or any other games from Origin/EA Desktop in the Apps and Features within Windows. I had to exit the EA Desktop App, open the original Origin program, find the game in my library there, and uninstall it. Pure shenanigans and lollygaggery.

You misunderstood the instructions. He meant that you need to use Windows own Apps & Features to uninstall games.
Just open Windows menu and type "Uninstall apps". From that list find the game you want to delete.
EA Desktop doesn't seem to have Uninstall feature (yet?).
EDIT: It's not possible that your PC doesn't list EA Desktop or installed games, as they are added to registry. In that case delete game folder itself or use 3rd party apps like "Iobit Uninstaller".

@EA_DavidAre you guys think what you are doing while UPDATING Origin. You deleted an option to uninstall games from your application. And you are waiting to receive good feedback about EA Desktop? You OK?
Now I have installed Steam and Ea Desktop versions of Apex Legends. How should I understand which one is which in Windows application list?
or just use Origin to Uninstall games.
You guys really need to fix the EA desktop app and the editing account web page.
It is bugged like that with the xbox app. The game deleted, but the xbox app says downloading is in progress (0 bites out of xyz).
Yeah that aint working. I got EA play trough the Xbox game pass but still need to download the games with EA desktop. Fine, I don't care about that, I installed Anthem to give it a try, now I want to uninstall it and I can't.
1. EA Desktop has no uninstall options.
2. App add/remove doesn't has Anthem in it's list, so I can't uninstall it like EVERY OTHER PROGRAM
3. Xbox app Only shows the game in the list but no uninstall options
This is not okay EA, I'm sorry but this is amateur hour to the max, no uninstall for the games? You already had Origin, now I'm forced to use yet another program you made and you didn't even implement BASIC options and I can't uninstall the damn game, great job. Maybe next time release a program when it has ATLEAST THE BASICS working.- @EA_David you never really answered why the feature is missing, it should be the FIRST thing that you add. "bEtA" is not an excuse.
David, this is not aimed at you but seriously? EA, gaming behemoth, a company that has had so much bad press they should be doing all they can to rescue and rebrand, and one of the most basic UX elements is missing from their new desktop app? That beggars belief, seriously.
You were lucky to get a game to run! This complete pile of dog poo is typical of a crap company called EA. I am SOOOOO pleased I didn't give them any money. Game free with gamepass. Microsoft, Steam, and Epic all know how to instal and run games. All EA is interested in is getting as much money from you as they can. Why, oh why, can't these games run from within microsoft's excellent gamepass app? I'll tell you why, because EA sees a way they can persuade you to give them even more money via their rubbish app.
I'm going to uninstal the EA Desktop app and games and go back to companies like Steam etc. who respect gamers.
Don't you just love how they go completely silent? We get one response from a community manager but that's not even fixing the issue cause with some games, like Anthem, you can't even uninstall it with the windows app removal as it's not in the list. All you can do is just delete the game folder.
When will companies and community managers realize that by remaining silent it only makes it worse for them as people get angry and annoyed. Maybe the community manager doesn't really know, but be honest about it, just say "Sorry guy's I have no idea how to fix this, I shall send it forward to the department that can do something with it". Now it's just one awnser that doesn't help in cases and that's it, no further response. Awesome job.Ea say sorry? Hehe that's a good one.
Hey, dawg, that's unacceptable. That option needs to be in the launcher if we have to use it. Especially when you're bringing in game pass users.
This is embarrassingly stupid. You are hacks, and should be fired. This is games design first day stuff. Just gross. Fire yourselves hacks, only morons would do business this way. Seriously, how embarrassing.
best way to remove this EA desktop
In the run box type appwiz.cpl The use run as Administrator.
Find the EA desktop app and uninstall it!
It will remove the app from your system.
I got rid of it in the end by exiting via task manager. Restarting the PC, then trying again.
Ok, I have a modicum of experience with computers so worked this out. Imagine what it's like for people who have less knowledge than me.
I'm wondering if the Desktop app is EA's new "surprise mechanic". It works like this: You try and run a game from GamePass. It doesn't work. In frustration you buy it from EA via the desktop app and it works....Surprise!
Why is there no button in the * app, that is DUMB AS *.
I'm still unable to find any way to uninstall Anthem other then just rightclick and delete the folder. The game is not listed in the apps list in windows where you normally can uninstall software, there is no uninstall button in EA Desktop and I can't uninstall trough the Xbox launch app either.
It's amazing how silent the helpdesk is here. It's stunning to see the massive amount of problems people report and that the most basic stuff isn't working or isn't implemented. They force you to use yet another of their software but haven't done any testing. They call it a Beta to excuse how broken it is I guess, but a beta normally has ALL FUNCTIONS PRESENT.
This is just insane, we got one generic answer and the guy didn't respond after when the problem wasn't fixed. Inexcusable behavior from the EA staff and the developers of EA Desktop. Clearly EA Desktop has been made during the Friday lunchbreak and then launched right after "O hey guy's we go it!".
I work in the public sector, I have to deal with customers and complaints, if I behaved like I see it here, I would be fired for doing a * poor job and not being customer friendly.- @Jorendo For real, this is complete *. Day one stuff.
- @EA_David That worked, thanks!
Thank you i was looking for this.
OK, for those of you who are having problems with uninstalling games.
1. Uninstall said game from either "Programs and Features" in control panel or "Apps" in the windows settings
2. If the game doesn't show in either of those just delete the folder.
3. Open task manager, select and "End task" of any EA app you see.
4 Open the EA Desktop app (beta my *... more like Pre-Alpha) and the said game show no longer be visible in the app.
To move a game to a different drive:
1. move folder to new location
2. delete original folder
3. copy step 3 and 4 from above
4. click the download icon for the game you moved and point it to the folder you moved it to and voila, job done! (note: the app may crash (well it is EA after all) but once the app loads up again all is good and it will carry on "finalizing")
Note: a system reboot may be required in some cases.
These methods worked for me, but these methods should not be needed
Now EA... where's my payment for providing a fix better than your so called community manager could?
Not having a built in uninstall feature is ridiculous.
I wanted to uninstall / reinstall a PC game but there is no uninstall feature in the EA Desktop app, so I uninstalled the game from Windows as per your instructions.
But now the game is still showing as "Play" in the EA Desktop app, so I can't installed it, play it, or even repair it..!?
What now?!

Couldn't have said it any better myself.
Fundamental requirements of a game launcher:
1) Install games.
2) Run games.
3) Uninstall games.
4+) All the other junk you jam into the launcher.
They failed at step 3).
/facepalm
