A quick Google search shows a good few results for how to restore the Windows Installer Service permissions to their defaults.

I'm afraid these don't help either. They tend to either be too complicated, use incorrect, obsolete or outdated terminology or data, lead to dead-ends where solutions/reccomended software doesn't exist anymore or are just wrong.

Isn't there just some Windows menu I can go to? This error should not be this complicated to fix. I didn't even change the system settings and no other software I have used has done this, including similar apps.
