Re: Nobody Can Launch Their Games Since Forced Client Change Over

I THINK I HAVE A FIX.

I had everything working fine in the Origin app.

Was forced to migrate to the EA App in April, and about eight of my games would not launch.

A few days ago it got worse. All of my games in my EA App were blacked out. I could not even attempt to launch them.

I tried the Clear Cache, and quit background services, and it seemed that got everything going.

Here's the thread I made describing the fix.

Battlefield V was inaccesible after upgrading to the EA App from Origin. Fixed! - Answer HQ

However I doubt that was the real fix that seeme dto help a few days ago.

I came back to EA today and found problems. All the games I previously could not launch on the EA App after migrating to it, would not launch again. I tried my fix again, but no joy.

After digging about on the internet for ages, trying stuff, I had an idea. 💡 .........

Try pausing my VPN. ... It worked!

Eight of my games were not working, and now seven of those launch fine. The one remaining game that does not launch is trying to launch from the Origin app, so that won't work. That game is Battlefield 3. However I can tell EA about that.

(I think the reason I got the games going again a few nights ago, was the VPN also. I think I did turn it off at one point - just I had not registered it to my brain. Meaning when I came back today and tried, my VPN was back on. Then discoved the issue with the VPN, after turning it off.)

So yeah, this still isn't working. How is there not a class action lawsuit against EA yet? They're still taking our money without offering a service at this point. Nothing works and there has been no fix or even word of a fix for this issue that they created MONTHS ago (It has almost been a full year). Haven't been able to launch an EA game properly since they first time they did the EA APP migration, now its impossible to even download, let alone log into, the Origin App. They purposefully messed their EA App up with "new" code (CLEARLY EA APP IS CODED DIFFERENTLY THAN ORIGIN OTHERWISE THEY WOULDNT HAVE MADE THE CHANGE) then forced us to move over. The origin app was still working to launch games so we continued to use that after we started reporting the EA APP wasn't working at all. THEN THEY SHUTTERED COMPLETE ACCESS TO THE ORIGIN APP WITHOUT FIXING THE EA APP. EA knowingly damned all of its PC players and has since then told us we aren't worth even a squirt of * as they haven't been able to offer any fix or even publicly recognize that there is even an issue with the EA APP.

  • ya so like im going to keep spamming this till EA gives us a response. I have all the time in the world

  • DELETE THIS AND ITS WAR. FIX YOUR APP SO WE CAN PLAY GAMES

@Kallibast There won't be a lawsuit until all of us get together off this platform, or someone picks up this story and thousands more affected make their claim.

Someone, even a trending reddit thread should pick up this story. EA is one of the few now 'game providers'.  You cannot 'own' content, you have temporary access to it.  Eventually you will have metered, interchanged access to it, and what you access won't be the old Sims 3 or other older games.

This isn't an accident, snot incompetance. Watch for what Sims 5 will be like, and how the next app will interplay with basic M$ systems
