First time writing in this forum, i have BETA tested your games EA, I have spent money on you cause I fillow the BF series. But if you can't allow a person to choose destination for where to install youe ahitty software, and to take years!! to fix the problem. I sure as hell won't buy any more of your games, and no I won't install you software where you want it. I make the choice or you stay away.
The most pathetic if this is how you manage to lie when installing your * launcher. All other launchers asks where you want to install the launcher, your * software asks where the games library should be. You could have been best in class if we got to chose both. Now I'm not even touching your software.
I do not want you to chose what parts of my computer to infect!
I hope you read this and understand with me, and the 16 pages before that this is an issue. Take it into your profitdamaged, gamedestroying, reckless idiotic soon to be defunded games company. I litterally hate you as a company right now. It's such a frekking basic action! And have been standard since the PC came into the world
I have this problem. I just finished a fresh install of Windows 11, after which I re-installed the Steam, GOG Galaxy, Epic, Rockstar, and Ubisoft apps/launchers, and had zero issue with any of them, but with EA, I am unable to change the installation location. I can choose a "library location" but the EA app still installs under "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop"
Looking for a solution, I find my way here and see it has been a problem for nearly two years. Pathetic.
STILL BROKEN 1/2023
This is still broken as of March 2023. For me the app lets me edit the install location, but it will not apply the changes, so it still keeps installing everythin on C-drive. 😞
I'm still having this same problem.
The Sims update won't install on my C drive saying there isn't enough space, so I moved it to my D drive which has hundreds of gigs free.
I did change the location in Settings>Download, but that doesn't change the install location in Manage>View Properties for the Sims.
There is a browse button next to the path, but there's no way to select the folder I browse to, so it doesn't change.
This is especially frustrating because the Sims won't let me play without running the update!
I also tried using the Origin app to either move the game or install the update, but it won't let me do anything in the Origin app, instead forcing me back to the EA app.
So now I'm completely stuck without being able to access the game, despite having half a terabyte of free space!
