Re: Unknown Error EC:203 in EA app

Good day,

I had purchased the Sims 4 and a large number of DLC's on Steam, not Origin, back in 2022.

Origin updated to the "EA App Beta", and now I can't play my game offline.

I agree with the others; it's ridiculous that we can't play games offline, that we've purchased and spent hundreds on DLC's.

Why does Mass Effect 3 and Dead Space 3, work offline on the EA App, but the Sims 4 won't?

My steps to launch the game:

i. I connect to the internet and open Steam in Online mode.

ii. I then switch Steam to use Offline mode.

iii. I open the EA App Online and modify it's setting, to Offline.

iv. I then try to run The Sims 4, from Steam - as I've always done.

v. The game does not launch and the EA App merely displays a "Error EC:203" message.

Please note:

i. I have Administrator rights on my laptop and UAC has been turned off.

ii. I've also disabled UAC in the registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]

    -> EnableLUA=dword:00000000
