Re: Why is iDeal no longer a payment option?

Well, I've managed to find a workaround.

It appears one can still pay through iDeal when one purchases a product via the https://www.ea.com/ website and navigates to the desired content.

What threw me off was the option to "Buy now > EA app for windows", which to me, implied that I would be redirected back to the EA desktop app, and thus would be thrown back into

the same circle of frustration where no option to pay through iDeal would be present. (seeing as I couldn't select this option as default within my account settings either).

What this apparently meant, however, was that I would be buying the product FOR USE in the EA app for windows, meaning I would be able to find the purchased content there for download after buying it through the website/browser. The more you know...

Further investigation on my part has revealed that the EA desktop app has been having some issues with iDeal payments since December (and some time before that). At least it's what I could deduce from questions other users have posted here.

For me however, the option had always been working fine until today when it suddenly disappeared as a payment option from the app entirely.

It leads me to believe EA has decided to remove the option from the app for the time being? But I haven't read anything about that in any official post or message.

Anyway, it would have been nice to have a little notice in the EA desktop app telling me that certain payment options have removed until further notice and that I could still

use these on the EA website itself if so desired. That would have been good and direct customer support.

It would have saved me quite a bit of frustration and some passive aggressiveness, at least.

Anyway, I hope this helps someone else out there running into the same problem I did.
