I'm having the exact same issue... Tried all of the steps mentioned in this thread - multiple times. And this is a fresh install - no mods, saves or anything. First download of the sims 4... After reading this thread and the fact that no-one is helping solve this problem i will not be buying any packs. I'm not giving my money to a company if there's a risk my game might break forever and they'll refuse to fix it.
