Has anyone recently not been able to launch Sims 4 because it says, "Gaming License Invalid'? I've seen forms that have been from almost a year ago saying an update was issued to fix, but nothing recent and mine is not working. I haven't been able to play Sims 4 since my desktop was older and couldn't keep up. I would get frustrated with the lag and not want to play at all. I literally just got a laptop for my work but also wanted to play Sims on it. I bought a laptop that would be able to handle it. After I purchased it the first thing I did was download the EA app and my Sims 4 game with expansion packs. Once everything was said and done, I tried to launch the game and got the "Gaming license invalid". I have done EVERYTHING!!!!!
Cleared cache, repaired with in the app, uninstalled and reinstalled both the app and the games, forced the EA app to update, made my computer update, everything is up to date.
Here's the thing, the one thing that I have not been able to do, and I will explain why, is take my license out of the folder and put on to my desktop. When I go to my programs data folder to take out the license folder I don't see the EA service folder, I only see EA desktop. I looked in every folder that would be linked with EA, Sims4, Origin, all of it. No license folder to be found! I even went to my old slow computer and put all the folders that it was missing in the program data folder on a flash drive and tried to put in into where it should have been. Still doesn't work.
Is there anyone that has or is having the same issue? Please help! I've even chatted with 4 different people with EA on the live chat and they said they will have to take it to the technical team, and they will get back to me!
If anyone can please help or have had a related experience and know how to fix this or even comment on things I haven't tired, I would greatly appreciate the advice. Or if you just want to vent on here, I'll take that too! This is seriously beyond frustrating! Thanks for reading my rant, any advice is appreciated.
Now they closed the case saying its unfixable???? The technical team can't fix it? They told me they would get a hold of me but never did. I logged on to see if they updated anything and I saw they closed the case and marked it unfixable.
I'm having the same exact issue. i was told they'd investigate and help me IF they receive more reports on it and to keep an eye on Twitter for updates..??
I figured out that if you have Xbox game pass linked it will mess it up, but I thought I could re link it so I can get the 10% off the games then unlink after. But nope it will lock you in for 6 months saying you cant unlink it so I was able to play again. Now I am back to invalid gaming license for 6 months, because EA support says it is out of their hands. Makes no sense to link them and make them not work together especially if you pay for Xbox ultimate gamepass and buy games from EA. Literally robbing people.
