Sims 4 - "unavailable for purchase" error

I can''t download the mac version of sims 4 on my macbook air. I go to the EA website, click download for mac, then continue to checkout, login to my EA account and then it takes me back to the 'continue to checkout' page but when I click the button, it does nothing. 

I have the right specs, my OS is up to date, I've tried clearing my cache and cookies etc, have tried different email addresses. I'm in New Zealand and have a payment card linked to the account, and I have popups enabled. I feel like I've tried everything and it still won't let me download it.

    This issue should now be resolved- please try adding The Sims 4 to your account again now, let me know if you're still having issues.

    Hi! i have been having exactly the same issue today. I was wondering if you ever figured out how to fix it as I'm getting sooooo frustrated!!!

    I have been trying for ages to get Sims4 and it will not download and sometimes says "not available" when I try to download. My Mac is fully updated and I have the EA app. I tried downloading other EA games to see if it was just a Sims issue but nothing works.

    I am having this exact same issue! Wont work in the EA app or the ea website download. the continue to checkout button isnt doing anything, and on the ea app it says the sims 4 is not available!
