Sims 4 won't download update - Stuck in a loop

The recent sims 4 update just keeps dowloading in a loop and won't actually install. It just keeps restarting. and EA won't let me launch the program without the update. 

I have tried
- clearing cache
-uninstalling EA & re-installing


I spent too many hours yesterday trying to get this game to update, any help is appreciated.
