Sims not appearing in ea library after interrupted update

I was installing the latest update and the download was interrupted and did not complete (I think it was around 75% done). For 15 minutes or so it was stuck on "cancelling download" not making any progress, quitting the app had no effect. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the app and my game, but still whenever the app opens I just see a blank box where my game should be. Nothing I can click on at all and no error message appears.
