"Something Went Wrong"

these last two ea app updates have royally screwed the app up for me, the app (I'm on MAC) cannot stay open problem free. Every single time even if I somehow manage to get into the sims to play, the app will start bouncing up and down and say that something went wrong and I need to restart the app. Restarting the app is also an issue as it takes forever to do so, at times it'll pop up with the "Connecting to EA app" and then immediately crash again, playing and wasting my life away on the Sims should not be this difficult lmao.
