The EA app won't open while Sims 4 is open

Essentialy what is happening is that the EA app works fine but after I open my sims 4 and go into the game it tends to close and it won't open back up. I've checked and in task manager the Background service is on and no matter how much I end the task it continues to pop up again when I try to open EA. It essentially runs in the background but I can't access it. It happens every time I open the game, without fail.
