DizzyDee-K There's actually a ton of discussion on the web about which behavior should be correct.
The general consensus appears to be that you should open site internal links within the same tab, and let the user control whether to open in new tab (e.g. on desktop by holding ctrl/command key, or pressing middle mouse button).I think the takeaway for our team is to improve the handling of the back action and providing things like pagination - you should not have to start over.
