I am finding the new forum clunky
i get signed out all the time
I would like to display my game user name rather than my EA name (or rather have the choice)
the forum keeps refreshing and then taking ages to load - or else just crashing
it’s really hard to reply to posts - when I try it often just freezes

It was blocked because it unfortunately has negative connotation in French and our plan had been to launch the site with French language support. But as we decided to push that back another few months, no need to block it yet.
I find it is a bit slow too. Maybe because it always needs to recalculate the Most likes and reorder the posts. 😄

Displaying your game name isn't planned, but you could work around it by updating your EA name to match your in-game user name (if you are open to that).
For now we are looking to offer more avatars to choose from. We are also evaluating whether we can offer custom ones at some point in the future - maybe tied to a certain rank?
I do not think that tying avatars to rank, beyond the basic "been your long enough to prove your not a bot or spammer," is a good idea. In my experience of this community, having that kind of hierarchy just isn't who we are.
The whole display name issue has a few unforutnate connotations for us who tend to seperate what we use online to game with others from what we generally use for our online pseudonyms.
It's a bit of a pen name issue. Not having others potentially know who we are, without going back and scorching Earth on our Origin friendslist then name changing is really a problem. I can imagine trans people from the old Sims forum to EA Forums might be in that boat.
Community AdminThanks for the additional context. While we cannot adjust the decision regarding user name display I do want to stress that EA is an ally and has zero tolerance for hateful content. This of course includes these forums, but also interactions in any of our games and apps.
Any instance of violation, please report them.
