A philosophical support journey with EA

Edit: Seems like this has been resolved after my latest support chat. Thanks Jose!

We are often told that journeys must have a beginning and an end, but some are like Ouroboros--eternal and self-cannibalizing.

Let me tell you a tale about my experience with EA support over the last few days.

I purchased a new laptop recently and was given a Battlefield 6 promo code; out of excitement I redeemed it on my primary email and forgot that most of my EA games are on my secondary email. Woe is me.

I searched online for a solution and found the holy grail: Account Mergers!

I asked an agent to merge the two accounts for me, and he tried but failed due to technical problems. No problem. A few days later I asked another agent to do the same, and this time it was succesful. Hazzah! The end? I wish...

When I waited the requisite 24 hours for the merge to go through and logged into my account, it was magic--all my games had been transferred over... except for Battlefield 6.

I then went back to support and asked why the game was missing. An associate named Siddhartha (like the famous literary work) told me that my game had been deleted through the transfer and there was NOTHING that could be done about it. Whisped away into nothingness like a like a fleeting flame.

Flabberghasted, I ended that conversation and went about my day. I tried again with a different associate who told me a different tale: The game is already in your account! All is well!

He transferred me to another associate who asked me to restart my app, relog my account, clear my cache, uninstall and reinstall the launcher... nothing worked.

Then I was transferred to another agent who was a real sleuth. She spent 30 minutes investigating the issue and finally concluded that Battlefield 6 couldn't be transferred through account mergers. "Regrettably," she said, "We have to revert the account merge".

"I understand." I said with a heavy sigh. She reverted the merge and I checked my original email--Battlefield 6 was there! Hazzah! We were back where we started but at least no harm was done. I wrote a positive review for this agent and happily played a round of BF6.

After my gleaming victory, I decided to log into my other account--you know, the one with most of my EA games--only to find it completely empty. Gutted.

So now I'm back talking to support. What kind of adventure would I go on next I wonder. Would I meet a life-long friend, learn a new art form in the support downtime, or maybe, just maybe, get my games back?

Thank you for reading my essay. I'm excited for the next chapter of this journey, stay tuned.

PS: my case number is 235098312
