EA Account Linking Mess

Once a Steam account is linked to an EA account, it can never be linked to another, even if the original EA account is disabled or inaccessible. This is not really a good idea. Especially if Steam is your primary platform. I think the way this was designed was not thought through properly.

Unlike platforms like Epic or Xbox, EA doesn’t allow you to manage linked accounts from their site without jumping through support hoops. I am mostly talking about inaccessible and banned accounts.

I get scripted responses or slow resolutions when trying to resolve linking issues. If an account is disabled UNLINK IT FROM STEAM!! How hard can this be??

I understand this might be for security, fraud prevention, and data integrity reasons, but the rigidity of the policy punishes legitimate users who lose access to an old EA account.

You really need to rethink your processes and perhaps learn from the industry leaders out there.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your feedback! I understand this process might be a bit complicated depending on the circumstances. I see that you mentioned a disabled account, and I wanted to let you know that you can re-enable an account to then unlink other platforms. Some disabled accounts can be reactivated by resetting your EA Account password. If that doesn't work, you can try contacting EA Help for assistance re-enabling the account.

Let us know if you have any questions.
