@GruffGamesI contacted them on live chat again basically they might be fixing it or make exceptions to people that got hacked something on those lines, Press X to doubt but lets hope. He also said that if you link yer xbox to a new account and the issue gets fixed you will be able to link it back to the OG EA account but idk If I want to risk it.
Same boat. I'm worried about linking it to a second account, just in case they ever do fix this for us, because I can't really trust that anyone knows how that will be implemented until we get more and better information. Plus it's still a hassle to manage multiple accounts when you have a lot of game history on another. I want to play games on THIS account for a reason.
Yeah, that's the same problem I have with the whole so called 'solution'. I can see a second account being a problem if there ever is a fix to this, and I know that I can't merge two EA accounts later because my current 'in-use' EA account has been linked to Steam when I bought C&C remastered there last year. So in some edge cases it may be possible to merge a new EA account into your current one, but in my case, and many other people's it's not possible. I would talk to EA tech support before I did any account linking or unlinking relating to a new EA account that you hope to be able to merge into an old one, because depending on your circumstances it's a 'one and done' deal or you are looking at a six month stand down period if it doesn't work out.
Managing two accounts is a hassle, it doubles your exposure if EA have a data breach down the road too. I don't even like that EA now have two launchers that I have to manage, Origin and EA Desktop Beta.
