Ea steam linking.

A friend told me he saw a video on emerging Xbox and steam apex accounts to add the items together, so yes I tried it, went in linked the accounts excited to see my stuff only to have only my Xbox account on there. Now my steam apex account is gone and I cannot use it, it had better items, money spent and a higher rank and I cannot unlink for 6 months? And there is no solution? I don’t understand why this 6months thing is a rule when so many people complain, is there seriously no way I can use my steam apex account again? I genuinely don’t understand why a company would make it this way when any other launcher can link  and unlink anytime. 6 months is literally half a year that’s not a quick time to wait and this makes me regret even playing any ea games, and the support system is absolutely horrible no live chat and no email? What type of company is this? Can someone please help?
