Linking Steam

Why does a company with more money than God limit players to "one Steam account in its lifetime"? I purchased Titanfall 2 through STEAM, went to launch the game through STEAM, oh but that's not okay with EA! I must launch it through THEIR launcher! And a few years ago my partner was logged into their Steam on my computer without me realizing, and whoops, there went my one allotted LIFETIME link. This is a joke and the only other thread that covered this was closed because "EA Forums does not have the 'space.'" 

Anyway, EA now has more money from me and I'm left unable to play the game I purchased :) I'll be resolving this with Steam as they're more reputable and work to amend customer issues (relatively).
