My Account won't link because my relatives account is linked to their email.

I have been trying to link my xbox and ea account together to play games, but every time I try, signed in on my account on the same hardware, it blocks me from doing so saying (friend's username) is linked to (friend's email) and cannot have two accounts linked. We've signed him out, and it still does it. We checked to make sure we're not signed in to his, we weren't. The accounts aren't connected in any way, they are not in a family, and have had nothing to mix them up other than being signed in from the same hardware. What do I do.

  • Hi AnDinoHary1

Links are established on Xbox when one opens their EA game and, when prompted, signs in with their EA Account login information. If your friend's email appears when you try to play an EA game online from your Xbox, then this means their EA account is linked to your Xbox.

You can unlink the accounts and link your Xbox to another EA Account if you'd like, but you need to be aware of the risks. For example, your in-game progress will not transfer over. What this means is:

    You’ll permanently lose access to:

    • games and game progress
    • DLC, expansions, and anything extra you have for your game
    • memberships and subscriptions
    • in-game purchases.

Please see these EA Help guides for more information about unlinking:

If in doubt, your best bet would be to link up with our support team with your friend. They can look at the EA account and let you know what can be done with the link once you've passed the security stage with them. This guide will share more on how to reach the support team:

    Hi AnDinoHary1

As we've not heard back from you in a while, we hope that means you were able to connect with the support team and explore your options. We'll close out this thread here.

Thanks for your post, and Happy Gaming o/
