My Epic account was hijacked by another EA user — EA Support won't help
I previously purchased several EA games through Epic Games. About 4–5 days ago, I wanted to play one of them again. When I launched the game and reached the setup stage, I was asked to connect an EA account.
That’s when I discovered something very serious: my Epic Games account had been linked to an EA account that I have never used and do not recognize.
I never created this EA account and I absolutely did not authorize this connection. I believe someone gained unauthorized access to my Epic Games account and linked their own EA account to it.
I contacted Epic Games Support, but they told me they cannot remove or change the EA connection and that I need to contact EA.
I then contacted EA Support, but they keep asking me to provide the account information of the person who linked their EA account to mine. I don’t know this person. How am I supposed to know their personal or account information?
I have told EA that I can prove ownership of my own Epic Games account and my own EA account. I can also provide purchase receipts and any other information needed to verify that I am the legitimate owner. However, they say this is not enough.
I am not asking for access to the other person’s account or for their personal information. I simply want EA to investigate how this unauthorized connection happened and reconnect my Epic Games account to my legitimate EA account.
Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, how did you manage to get EA to resolve it?
