Trying to link my teen's account to my parent account - help

I have a parent account under my email address. When trying to add my teen's account to the family group, we get stuck in an endless loop of password resetting/credentials expired error. She has an account with her ID. All she wants to do is play Sims 4, but when she downloads it, the code isn't sent to me or her. This is extremely frustrating, we are going around in circles.

  • Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems setting up your teen's account. If you're not receiving the verification codes; Try resending the code. If that doesn’t work, make sure:

    • your inbox isn’t full
    • you’ve checked the spam folder
    • you or your service provider haven’t blocked us
    • you’re logged in to the right EA Account.
      • If you’re logged in to a different EA Account, your codes might go to the wrong email.

Keep your EA Account email address up to date so you can always get your codes.

If you’re still not getting your codes, look for a past email from ea@e.ea.com and allow images to be displayed. Then, resend the verification email.

In case you're still not receiving the codes, please contact EA Help: How to get help with your EA Account

None of those helped. It ended up easier just letting her use my account. We were going around and around in circles, having to reset passwords, then EA wouldn't recognise her email address, only her ID but there was no way to reset anything for her ID alone. The above is not a solution at all.

  • I have exactly the same issue and have for months. Support is useless and keeps telling me that underage accounts can't log in to websites, which defeats the whole purpose of family management.

paulyoung It depends on the age.

If it's an underage account, they won't be able to make any changes, and for an underage account to be created, it must have a parental email linked to it. https://help.ea.com/en/articles/ea-account/parental-controls/

For teen accounts, they can log in to the website and account management, but you can choose the restrictions that will be applied to the account. If you need to just adjust the parental controls, you can do so by following the steps in this article: https://help.ea.com/en/articles/platforms/family-and-teen-accounts-ea-app/
